Should I replace my gutters with my roof?
It’s common to replace gutters with a roof replacement, especially if you want to go for a new look and style. However, if your existing gutters are functioning correctly, it is not necessary to replace them.
Quality Exterior and Restoration provides free inspections to help you determine whether your existing drainage system is adequate.
My Gutters keep getting clogged, what do I do?
We always recommend to get gutter guards/strainers installed to keep leaves and other debris out of the gutters. Otherwise, you might have to unclog them several times a year, which requires the risk of getting up on a ladder. Strainers make it difficult for large debris to enter gutters so you won’t have to clean them (or pay someone else to do it!).
Ice Damming
Ice damming happens when gutters get clogged with ice and often large icicles form. This can damage the gutters and cause water to leak into the eaves. Ice damming is usually the result of poor insulation or ventilation.
If you notice ice damming during the winter months, call Quality Exterior and we will provide the necessary repairs to prevent damage to your home. Unless the damming has been happening for a long time and extensive damage has already occurred, then repairs should be sufficient to prevent the worst from happening.
